One of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world came to us in need of a custom drilling solution to provide longer tool life and cost savings.

To improve a specific application, we custom engineered a cross-tipped drill, featuring the hardest polycrystalline diamond we could possibly source to increase tool life.

We tested our EDGEX4 technology against the hardest materials used across industries like CFRP and aluminum. Our tool life was outperforming by over 200% and we knew we were on to something.

EDGEX4®-Ball Nose

EDGEX4® PCD version is for ceramics, CFRP/composites/stacked materials, non-ferrous metals (in high volume applications), plastics, and wood. A PCBN version is for ferrous metals, including hard alloys. Application must have high pressure coolant (more than 750psi) for a PCD EDGEX4® version (PCBN does not need coolant).

EDGEX4® can be made with or without coolant holes, down to 6mm. Anything smaller, our engineering team can help review if a "full nib" style is a solution based on application needs.

Sizes and styles vary based on custom tool application and need. EDGEX4® is for solid material (not cored holes). Contact us for additional information.
